KUNTAUR IMAM KILLED!!!
Bakary Saine, Banjul
The Imam of Kuntuar was stabbed 16 times before he met his untimely death last night, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The 30 year old Imam Amadou Jallow was accosted by his killers while he was preparing to go lead the morning prayers, according to informed sources. His death comes on the heels of Imam-ship dispute amongst the villagers of Kuntaur. It was gathered that there were some parties who opposed Jallow Imam-ship. There is no evidence so far linking his murder to the said dispute, but village sources said Jallow’s murder was a well coordinated one. The villagers suspect that Jallow was murdered by his enemies who they say had never concealed their opposition against his appointment as Imam.
During an interview with this paper, Fatou Sal wife of the late Imam said her husband had been constantly threatened by some anonymous people who sent him text messages, threatening take his life one of these days. “ The persons(s) sending text messages went ahead to fulfill their threats by killing my husband.” She tells the Freedom Newspaper reporter.
