Jarju mans Military Intelligence Unit- amidst Security threats!
The former Director General of the NIA-National intelligence Agency has been moved back to his former position as head of the GAF-Gambia Armed Forces Intelligence Unit. Jarju was pulled from there to come and head the NIA after the so-called March coup d'etat of 2006.
This is the same position Jarju held before the above mentioned date and month therefore he is back.
Why couldn't Jarju detect the March 2006 coup then?
Sometimes President Jammeh is the only one who can explain how he trusts and distrusts people around him.
Jarju failed flat on the ground as the then head of the military intelligence unit yet still he was made the DG NIA after the famous march coup? Jarju was spared where Daba Marenah was slaughtered like a goat?
A question for Jarju and President Jammeh to answer!
Security threats in the army!
The main reason why Jarju was redeployed to his old job is nothing other than the fact that there are serious security threats within the ranks of the GAF-Gambia Armed Forces. The first move Jarju recommended for Jammeh was what he did two days back. That is,ridiculing the senior officers before their juniors! Jarju did some hypothetical findings thus made President Jammeh believe that the foot soldiers are not happy. In the vein of Jarju's funny methods he thinks pushing the blame on senior officers is much better for Jammeh at this hour. Jarju and Jammeh have forgotten that these junior officers in the army are seing the blatant discrimination that exists between them and the "favoured" state guard pets! This is what angers them. Their anger has nothing to do with senior officers. That was a fabricated lie between Jarju, and the commander in chief President Jammeh. They know this as a fact.
Now that Jarju is back to the GAF Intel unit we will be seeing more infighting between him and the state guards or General Tamba's circle.
In fact why was Jarju promoted as a soldier while heading the NIA? That means he was a soldier manning the civilian intel unit! How can Jarju who could not lead the "softer" NIA handle the disgruntled men and women of the Jammeh army?
Time is on the side of truth. President Jammeh will reap what he is sowing! |
