BIGGEST DRUG CASE KILLED BY IGP BADJIE!!!!

The Case Of Sheriff Jallow, Gibril Jallow, And Banna Joina Was More Than An Abduction Case-Police Command Sources Said

The Biggest Case Yet To Be Prosecuted Uncovered!!!

The arrest, and subsequent prosecution of the three Serre Kunda natives in November of 2008, attracted a heated media coverage in Banjul, but there are hidden facts surrounding the case of Sheriff Jallow, Gibril Jallow, and Banna Joina, who were charged with “abduction, and kidnapping” by the police –under the leadership of the erstwhile Inspector General Essa Badjie, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal.

The case of the trio, was widely underreported by Gambia’s mainstream media—thanks to IGP Badjie’s conspiracy theories to “kill” a multimillion drug case involving the three, sources familiar with the case said.

Facts surrounding the Jallows, and Joina’s case would be reported here faithfully, and honestly without prejudice to the parties concerned.  Ours is to expose the former IGP’s clandestine operations to withhold evidence pertaining the said case, which arose national, and international interest.

The facts of the case goes like this:  On November 6th 2008, a German lady called Sara was assigned by Sheriff Jallow, Gibril Jallow, and Banna Joina—a notorious drug lord in Banjul, together with other accomplices to be named in our subsequent publication to traffic a sizeable consignment of drugs to Germany on their behalf.

For some unexplained reasons, a dispute arose between the traffickers, one of whom Ismaila Demba, AKA ( Ous Boy), who took it upon himself to pose as a police officer to stop the German lady who was at the time travelling to the airport—heading for Germany, sources recounted.  Mr. Demba was riding with Modou Musa Cham at the material time. He successfully pulled over the German lady, and handed her to the Kotu police. The incident occurred around the Brusubi roundabout, sources said. The drugs were confiscated, and the German lady was let go by the police.

The three accused persons: Sheriff Jallow, Gibril Jallow, and Banna Joiner became upset, as they received information that  Ismaila Demba used his personal car to intercept their drug trafficking errand German lady, who was busted by the posing undercover cop Ous Boy, sources told Freedom Newspaper. The three then regrouped, and strategized ways, and means of abducting Mr. Demba, with the view of avenging what was considered Mr. Demba’s betrayal schemes, sources said.

Mr. Demba was physically attacked, and abducted near Luigi's Restaurant—not far from the Senegambia Hotel.  Read the following link published by the Daily Observer  on a pending abduction case involving the accused persons.

The three took D75,000 dalasis from Mr. Demba, after he was mercilessly beaten over a drug case—which the former IGP Essa Badjie, Bun Sanneh, and other drug squad officials  were not willing to pursue since they were bribed close to half a million dalasis.

On September 16th 2009, the fearless Justice Moses Richards of the Special Criminal Court, raises eyebrows over the case—following the prosecution’s inability to provide the necessary information for the case to proceed.  Mr. Richards quizzed Mr. Momodou Musa Cham,  a prosecution witness about his relationship with the German lady, but Cham was reluctant to elaborate. He merely denied being involved in drug trafficking, without informing the court what had transpired on the day in question. Remember, this was the guy who aided, and abetted Ismailai Demba to stop the German lady on her way to the airport with the concealed drugs.

The accused persons were supposed to be charged with drug trafficking, but IGP Badjie thought that this was not a case to be heard by our courts. He insisted that the drug case should be dropped, sources said. The accused persons were merely charged with abduction, and that the Attorney General Chambers failed in its duties in thoroughly interrogating the prosecution’s indictments. This was more than a robbery, as claimed by the police.

Police witnesses lied in court openly by failing to state the facts. Read this link to learn more about the hidden drug case.

Justice Moses Richards has been fighting hard for the prosecution to put its house in order, so that justice can be administered in this matter without unnecessary delays. This case has been dragging in court since November of 2008.  Read the following link to see Richard’s protest in court over the issues of speedy trial:

According to highly placed sources close to the police command, the former IGP Badjie was on the payroll of drug lords in the country. Our sources said the case in question was a big catch, but for some reasons, it was dropped by the IGP.

Mr. Badjie owns two mighty houses in the Greater Banjul Area—amidst concerns over his source of income to secure such luxurious homes. It has been gathered that Mr. Badjie openly socializes with drug dealers.

Reports also depict about a disturbing revelations in regards to Gambian women being used for drug trafficking by the country’s drug lords. According to sources, the drug lords  had on numerous occasions arraigned to secure visas for some women to facilitate their drug trafficking schemes overseas, through fictitious holiday visa applications.

The majority of the drugs trafficked abroad from The Gambia, comes from Guinea Bissau, sources said. Bissau is a hot spot for drug trafficking.  Gambian drug dealers usually traveled to Bissau to buy drugs for inward transmission, sources said.
