Yahya Jammeh’s “Dirty” Business Deals With Redcoat, And MJ Financial Services Exposed!!!

…Disturbing Revelations About Jammeh New Corruption Web!!

Gambia’s ailing President has transformed The Gambia into his personal property. His involvement in commercial activities is no secret to the ordinary man in Banjul.  What is most disheartening is that Jammeh is using private citizens as fronts to pursue his “ GET RICH, OR DIE,” hustle slogan. Our exposure of Jammeh’s corruption web would today center on two private entities in our dear motherland. MJ Financial Services, and Redcoat International are two separate entities. Jammeh has hands in the operations of the two companies, so were told.

Kukoi Asked To Apologize To Gambians!!!

By Jai Ceesay

Thursday 31 July 1981, is  the darkest day in the history of the Republic of the Gambia.  In my memories, this was a day when irresponsible Gambians took the law into their own hands to topple a democratically elected government. This group of bandits, who by then had no agenda, not well organized caused a lot of deaths in our country.I was shocked when I read the freedom newspaper, seeing one of the masterminds of the bloody incident trying to justify his deed, which makes me angry.

 Baba.
…………………………………………………………………………
GPU-USA Sends More Money to Chief Manneh Family
The GPU-USA has disbursed more funds to help the family of disappeared Gambian journalist, Chief Ebrima Manneh. A couple of weeks ago, GPU-Gambia received a little over 12, 000 from GPU-USA Treasurer Joe Sambou. The monies were channeled through GPU President Ndey Tapha Sosseh.

This morning, Ndey Tapha forwarded the email below from one of her colleagues in Banjul reporting that another installment of 2500 has been handed over to Chief Manneh's father.

The GPU-USA will continue helping Chief Manneh's family as long as funds permit. We continue to solicit contributions to the Chief Manneh Family fund on an ongoing basis. Those wishing to contribute can send their contributions to Joe DSambou in the U.S. or Njok Malik Jeng in the U.K.

The GPU-USA wishes to thank all who have chipped in to help this family. Below is the relevant portion of the email forwarded to GPU-USA by Ndey Tapha Sosseh.
"Yesterday we took the money - D2,500 to the family of Chief manneh in Kombo Lamin. 160 Gambians Died In A Boat Accident- Writes Yankuba Ceesay

As Hundred Others Languished In Libyan Jails

By Yankuba Ceesay, Libya

Dear Sir ,
I am a Gambian national, now residing in Tripoli Libya. I read your paper daily, and decided to take the opportunity to write to you today.
For your information, a good number of  Gambians  arrived in this country (Libya) recently, who tried  to cross the sea to Italy (Lampadusa) . Unfortunately, the boat they were travelling with capsized. Over 160 young Gambians died in that accident.

As I write to you, hundreds of Gambians are languishing in Libyan jails without trial. The detainees are economic immigrants, who abandoned their home country The Gambia, due to growing economic hardship.

Feel free to contact me, if you want additional information about the situation of Gambians in Libya.  I would be more than glad to feed you with information. Thanks for your overwhelming efforts in facilitating this website for overseas Gambians.

Editors note: Thanks Mr. Ceesay for the information volunteered. Our heartfelt condolence to the demised Gambians. It is unfortunate that our young ones are fleeing The Gambia due to economic hardship. I hope The Gambian consulate in Libya will help to ensure the release of the said detainees. Thanks for having confidence on the Freedom Newspaper.

Breaking News:Koukoie Samba Sanyang Exposes Yahya Jammeh- The Gambia Journal Exclusive!!!

An Exclusive Interview with Koukoie Samba Sanyang Part 3

By The Gambia Journal

TGJ:

What role did Pengu George and the Moja militants play in the organization of the 1981 coup?

Mr. Sanyang:

Look the organization of the 31st July 1981 people’s uprising was not an issue of a single person, a particular organization but the wish and will of the entire Gambian people for freedom and justice. It was for laying the footpaths for the peoples struggle towards a New Independent and Democratic revolutionary Gambia with the rule of law, strict respect for civil liberties, peace, progress, prosperity and the pursuit of happiness.

The popular character and nature of this 31st July peoples uprising was the outcome of the general belief that when a society demands a change there is no need attempting to change it on old neocolonial principles, and also no need remaining unchanged in our political attitudes while the world change around us, we might very well become more reactionary than the enemy after having been revolutionary because the status quo would have changed so much in the meantime.

The people realized that we badly needed a positive change in the Gambia, not a change for change sake. It was of our conviction that the poor oppressed and exploited Gambian masses had little to lose from such a positive radical qualitative change we struggling for, but may hope to gain from the proposed socialists egalitarian policies this is why they took an active part in the struggle, while the well-to-do were seeing our proposed change as threats to their best interests, thus aligning themselves on the junta side.

What we urgently needed then was serious organized challenges and resistances not isolated acts to this human eating society. Contrary to President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara’s believe and aims, ethnicity certainly was not the focus of our nationhood.

The strategy and tactics of this national resistance for change was determined by the reaction as usual of the enemy forces – and we were ready to meet force with force, reasoning with reasoning and dialogue with dialogue which never had a chance.

Because our objective was to serve the people of the Gambia by our deeds and in total truth, we have no doubt, what so ever that we will be understood by all Gambians as the struggle unfolds.

Editorial: Is Jammeh A Liability For The Gambia??

Few days ago, we published a lead story about Jammeh’s plane being grounded in Washington DC. The landing fee for the said plane is being paid for by Gambia’s tax payers. We are talking about several millions of dalasis. We sometimes question if Jammeh has the country’s interest at heart. He is far from being patriotic. Here is a thief, who survived from tax payers money to run his private errands. Yahya Jammeh should bear in mind that his days are numbered. He would one day account for the millions he has embezzled. He has hijacked almost every sector of development in the country. Jammeh is competing with the business community. He wants to get rich without working. Jammeh is a liability for The Gambia, and her people. He has failed as a leader. He is more of a burden to our impoverished nation.

Horomsi: UDP Leader, And His Deputy In The US!!!

Is The Point Newspaper Serving As Spokesman For Gov’t ?

What is happening with the Gambian media? How comes that such a major story is being missed? Guess what? The UDP leader Ousainou Darboe, and his Deputy Yahya Jallow are on a visit to the United States. They have been here for over a week now. Perhaps, the jailing of the six journalists might have diverted the media’s attention. Everyone is mourning. The GPU six have been jailed for nothing. They are victims of state power abuse. What is evident though, Yahya Jammeh has succeeded in taming local journalists. There is news scarcity everywhere. There are stories, but very few journalists are brave enough to pursue such stories.  Local journalists are extra careful about what they report these days.
