Calls for Decriminalization of Homosexuality
New York, May 22, 2008- In a strongly worded letter to Gambian President Yahyeh Jammeh, Paula Ettelbrick, Executive Director of the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) condemned statements by the West African leader ordering homosexuals out of the country, threatening hotel owners who rented rooms to gay and lesbian people, and threatening summary executions. Ettelbrick also called for the repeal of Gambia's antiquated sodomy law, inherited from its days as British colony. FATOU JAW MANNEH HONOURED!!!
A Tribute to the Athena of African Journalists, Fatou Jaw Manneh- The Watchman
Dear Ms. Jaw Manneh:
Let me begin by making an honest confession: sometimes, us Gambian media types, commentators and opinion suppliers don't see the big picture and get bogged down by trivial distractions. Today, I want you to know that despite the ongoing concerns about what happens to The Gambia during and after the Yahya Jammeh debacle, I still think about how to boost your morale, how to facilitate your release from the grips of a horrendous potentate, and to emphasize ,above all, that you are an absolute hero to all of us who love our country and ,most importantly, cherish freedom and dignity.

Buray Jawo reacts to Lamarana Jallow's piece!! Friday, May 23, 2008 (695 reads)
Below is the unedited reaction of Buray Jawo to Lamarana Jallow's piece.
By Buray Jawo
Pa, i am pleased to welcome Lamarana jallows polimics. His stories of distortion has no place in our stuggle to restore democracy in The Gambia. It is significant to review jallows inconsistencies. He alleged to be a civil servant who is intrested in jammehs demise and has no regret betraying his oath of office.Excellent.However, it is inconceivable for him to claim he and Lang Tombong meet with jammeh to discuss calendestine issues and turn around to leak it to freedom newspaper..I have no doubt in my mind that this is the biggest fallacy..

BURAY JAWO DISMISSED FROM CUSTOMS!!! Lamarana Jallow Exposes Buray Jawo!! Thursday, May 22, 2008 (1103 reads)
BURAY JAWO DISMISSED FROM CUSTOMS!!!
……LAMARANA JALLOW EXPOSES BURAY JAWO
By Lamarana Jallow, Son Of The Gambia
I have been busy handling national security cases. I read Buray Jawo’s rantings. First, let me made it clear that I do not work for the Freedom Newspaper. I am an employee of The Gambian Government. I am a senior intelligence officer interested in Jammeh’s demise. I provide information to the Freedom Newspaper free of charge. I have no regrets for betraying my oath office because the President himself is violating this policy. Having said that, let me remind Buray Jawo his days at Customs. I handled his case file prior to his sacking. He and another Custom agent name withheld were accused of harassing local business owners. The charges were that Buray and this Custom agent forcefully collected money from business owners. The sum involved in this graft was substantial. His case file is with me. Buray should have been prosecuted, but thanks to the former Custom’s boss, his case was dropped. He was dismissed from the Customs.

……QUOTE OF THE DECADE- “IF I BETRAY YOU, MAY GOD BETRAY ME”, PRESIDENT JAMMEH Thursday, May 22, 2008 (1713 reads)
JAMMEH BETRAYED GAMBIANS!!!
……QUOTE OF THE DECADE- “IF I BETRAY YOU, MAY GOD BETRAY ME”, PRESIDENT JAMMEH
By Alhagie Kanteh, Former Army Captain
Dear Editor,
It was in the month of July 1994, a few days into the coup that brought Jammeh to power in the Gambia, that the then chairman of the AFPRC, Yahya AJJ Jammeh made a solemn pledge to the people of the Gambia; one that shall prove the test of time. As the confident new ruler took to the pulpit at the Independent Stadium in Bakau, the first public address of the junta of the nation, Jammeh did what no leader ever did as far as I know. As if to swear himself into office, Chairman Jammeh as a sign of goodwill released a white pigeon into the air, vowing that a new era of peace and prosperity was born in the Gambia. Jammeh blamed “rampant corruption, impunity and flamboyant life style” as the reasons for the military intervention. The longevity of the PPP regime was another reason for the coup; so reasoned the man in red beret.

JAMMEH DISCRIMINATES AGAINST OTHER TRIBES!!!
Politics of discrimination is creeping into Gambia’s body politics. President Yahya Jammeh is discriminating against other ethnic groups in the country. Jammeh’s discriminatory tendencies are evident in the way he hires and fires public officials. He’s favoring his tribe men and women to the expense of the Gambian nation. If you are not a Jolla today in The Gambia, you are considered as a “ bad person, unpatriotic, enemy of the state, the list goes on and on…..The President has undermined the country’s cultural and ethnic diversities in the name of tribal discrimination.

SANKANU'S LETTER TO BRAD PITT & ANGELINA JOLIE- Watchman
Berlin Soup Kitchen
Germany
Everyday
Dear Angelina & Brad,
My name is Bubacar Sankanu. You probably have not heard of me but I am a very famous commentator on Gambian online media who cannot make up his mind as to whether Yahya Jammeh is a bad dictator or not. I escaped from Gambia by hiking across the Sahara desert under extreme conditions. Please, the reason why I am writing to you is to ask you to formally adopt me as a child of yours. It's true I am 46 years old but I'm just a hungry African kid with a cute smile. Wont it be nice to have me as a big brother to your other adopted kids, Zahara, P ax, Maddox and your daughter Shiloh?
