Gambia: No Meat In Gambia’s Markets!!!

No Meat In Gambia’s Markets!!!

By M.G.O. Gaye

Good  Morning Pa,

I would like to extend my sincere prayers to you during this holy month and encourage you to keep up the good work of educating, informing and raising the political awareness of all Gambians, especially those of us who are outside and trying to make the best out of a terrible situation. I was dismayed to learn about the scarcity of meats and sugar that hit the Gambia recently. I could not believe what I was reading from your Newspaper.  I then contacted my people back home and the answer was devastating for me. Up until today, there is neither meat nor sugar for sale in the Gambia and it seems the butchers are quietly refusing to sell. My contact told me that even the vultures and dogs are also on a sitting-strike. Daunting Phalanx of Vultures and dogs has started occupying the main road leading to Brikama, and drivers have to negotiate their ways out of these wild carnivorous beasts.

Jammeh’s Mother Live In An Incomplete House Before Coup—Kassa

Says Jammeh Is An Economic Prostitute

By Pa Nderry M'Bai, Raleigh, NC

Email: panderrymbai@gmail.com

Dodou Kassa Jatta, a prominent Gambian politician has said that President Yahya Jammeh’s own mother Ajaratu Asombi Bojang was staying in an incomplete building in Cape Point Bakau, before the toppling of the 30 years PPP rule. Kassa a member of the opposition United Democratic Party said Jammeh’s mother was living under economic hardship pre-APRC rule, but today her son  Yahya Jammeh has transformed himself as an “economic prostitute.”  Kassa accused President Jammeh of looting national coffers to the detriment of the nation. He said Jammeh is involved in all kinds of businesses in the impoverished West African country. He said Jammeh is a certified thief, who is hell bent on looting national coffers. “ Yahya Jammeh is an economic prostitute. Jammeh was one of the poorest Gambians  you can find in this country.  His own mother was living in an incomplete building in Bakau, before the coup, but today Jammeh has robbed Gambians by stealing our national coffers. She was living in a house without windows. His mother was struggling to survive here in Bakau. She was also watching the incomplete house for the owner.   How can Jammeh turn around today to behave as if he was born rich. He is from a poor family straight up,” Jatta said.

JAMMEH IS ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY!!

Former Independent Newspaper Publisher Drops The Bombshell

Jammeh does not need anybody’s mandate to rule as long as he wants. He frequently says so himself. I think Jammeh’s greed for power, his selfishness, and his lack of personal integrity were most responsible for his decision to renege on his promise to put term limits for the presidency. A man of integrity does not renege on his solemn promise, especially one made to an entire nation,” said former Independent Newspaper Publisher Baba Galleh Jallow.  Speaking in an Exclusive Interview with Freedom Radio, Mr. Jallow said legacy is doomed—thanks he (Mr. Jammeh’s) power abuses, and tyrannical rule.  “Jammeh is definitely not on the good side of history simply because his record as Gambian president has been horrendous. For example, all the killings and disappearances, all the abuses of the rule of law, all the uncouth statements he has made – all of these, among other things, are part of his historical record, and they are not good. It is a fact of life that there is always a balance sheet and historically, the heavier side of the balance wins out. He might have done a few good things, but his evil deeds far outweigh his good deeds and will determine his place in history,” the former Independent boss tells the Freedom Newspaper. Below is the full text of the interview. Please read on…

President Of The Republic of The Gambia

Banjul, The Gambia

 Dear President Jammeh,

It is with great honor and privilege that I get to write to you again. I say again because I have once written to you before but for security reasons, I will not disclose my identity but I open my door to build a father- Son relationship with you. To commence, let me begin by wishing you, the Jammeh family and the people of The Gambia a blessed Ramadan Mubarak. May Allah the merciful forgive us all for our sins as no man is perfect. Having said that, the reason that I decided to write to you again is that this time around, I will ask too much of you again. Left to me alone Mr. President, I will contact you personally and have this discussion with you but given the fact that I have no other ways to get in contact with you, I decided to use the Freedom Newspaper.

Who Is Gambia’s President?  Pa Harry Or Yahya Jammeh?

Barley less than six months, following his appointment as the Solicitor General at the Attorney General’s office, former magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh has built a multimillion dalasi house in Koli—amid official corruption, and abuse of office perpetrated by the number two man at the AG Chambers, judicial sources told the Freedom Newspaper.  Pa Harry, as he is fondly called here in Banjul, amassed his luxurious Kolili property from dubious “kickbacks” he received from drug cases, and the auction of individual properties, sources familiar with Mr. Jammeh’s organized corruption scheme intimated. Due to his family ties with President Jammeh, Pa Harry on numerous occasions used Mr. Jammeh’s name in a bid to pursue his monetary, and leadership dreams.  He operates outside the dictates of the law—and in some occasions he  received “kickbacks” during the sale of public properties through Government auction programs, sources said.  Pa Harry has sold ten landed properties in the recent past, but the sale of these properties were questionable.  Sources said Pa Harry published his personal cellular phone number in the Daily Observer, each time there is an auction sale of public properties.

Freedom Newspaper Sends Protest Note To www.Nigeriafilms.com

Nigeria Film Website Accused Of Plagiarism

Dear Editor:

My name is Pa Nderry M’Bai. I am the Publisher of The Gambian based US online Freedom Newspaper. Our attention has been brought to the plagiarizing of our story by your medium captioned “Breaking News: Gambia: JAMMEH WASTED OVER #300,000 POUNDS ON A NOLLYWOOD MOVIE!” The said story was published by the http://nigeriafilms.com without giving credit to the source of the story.  Here is the link of your publication:  http://nigeriafilms.com/news/8618/17/gambia-president-jammeh-sinks-300000-pounds-in-nol.html

This is a clear case of journalistic dishonesty. We demand that the Management of the www.nigerianfilms.com  website to give credit to our site or remove the story from your news publication.  We worked very hard to piece the story together, and the least we expect from a leading news site like yours is to give credit where it is due.  The days of hijacking people’s hard earned stories without giving credit to the source is over.  Plagiarism undermines decent, honest, and objective journalism.  We expect you to know better.

It is imperative to note that a number of Ghanaian newspapers including the Ghana Peace FM news site quoted your purported Nollywood  news scoop.  Here is link to the Peace FM story which was featured on Google news:   http://showbiz.peacefmonline.com/news/201008/70081.php

The piece was carried by our paper. Here is link to our story, which you reproduced word for word without giving attribution, or credit to the source of your publication:

Our story earlier appeared on Google news Gambia section.  It is always good to cite your sources of information in the interest of ethical journalism. It pays to abide by highest journalistic standards and ethics.  Your reporter is acting as if he is the author of the story, when in fact he lifted the piece from the Freedom Newspaper. Our piece was reproduced by a number Nigerian Newspapers without giving credit to the source of the story. Please correct this journalistic dishonesty in the interest of fair reporting. Obama: 'Muslims have the right to practice their religion as anyone else'

Source: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38698500/ns/politics-white_house/

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama on Friday endorsed plans for a Muslim mosque two blocks from ground zero in New York City, declaring that "Muslims have the right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country." Speaking at a White House dinner celebrating the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, Obama said all Americans have the right to worship as they choose."That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan, in accordance with local laws and ordinances, Obama said. "This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakeable." Obama emphasized the point as New York City is immersed in a deeply sensitive debate about whether a mosque should be built near the site of the World Trade Center's twin towers.

More Heads Roll At NDEA—Firing Spree!!!

Women Officers Claimed Harassment

Bun Sanneh And Co Investigated For The Murder Of A Nigerian!!!

More heads continue to roll at the National Drug Enforcement Agency, following Tuesday’s wave of sackings of the agency’s senior and junior officials, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report.  The agency’s “Force Order” as it is called here in Banjul  announced the dismissal of 20 anti narcotic agents for unexplained reasons. Women serving senior anti narcotic officers suffered the latest purging of the NDEA, as they could be seen weeping around the corridors of the NDEA. They cried on top of their voices—thereby attracting the attention of passerby, and Islamic bank officials in the area. The dismissed women officers could not come to terms with the President’s office decision to send them packing. They created a big commotion around the Islamic Bank, as the women hugged each other while crying loud. It was a somber day in Banjul. Another new list of dismissed officers emerged Thursday. Aunty Luwis Joof was also fired. Aunty Lewis is the sister of Juwana Joof, the former wife of former Interior Minister Ousman Badjie, now Gambia Ambassador. Reports reaching the Freedom Newspaper say Aunty Ndey Rose Sambou officer commanding Bakoteh has been dismissed. She was onetime in Brikama before being moved to Bakoteh.
