BRIKAMA COUNCIL CEO CLASHES WITH PARTY MILITANTS!!!

By Wise Man

A brawl ensued between the Chief Executive officer of the Brikama Area Council Gidda Jallow and some members of the July 22Nd Movement Action Group yesterday. Mr. Jallow refuses to okay D40,000 payment request from the July 22Nd Movement Action group for the purchase of “ Green Uniforms” for the Movement. Even though his boss Chairman Sunkari Badjie authorizes the disbursement of the funds, Gidda Jallow declined the transactions, citing the potential economic loss the Council might suffer due to such un-reconciled cash issuances. The July 22ND members later went wild, as they openly curse out the Brikama Area Council CEO. Officials from the Governor’s office later came to restore sanity at the council.

Mr. Jallow insists that under his watch there wouldn’t be no cash disbursement without accountability. He was confronted by a group led by Lamin Kulo Bojang, Chairman of the July 22Nd Movement in Brikama. Bojang insists that they needed the said money in order to buy uniforms to welcome the President during his meet the people’s tour. But Jallow says he cannot approve the said request as there was no budget set aside for such expenses. He also wondered what precedence the July 22nd Movement wants to set in Birkama, arguing that the opposition might also turn around ask for the same financial gesture. Consequently, he disapproves the request.

The Gambia Armed Forces are Africa's Dumbest Military- The Watchman

An army without culture is a dull-witted army, and a dull-witted army
cannot defeat the enemy."
                                                                        - Chairman Mao Zedong

A couple of weeks ago, The Watchman was at a military base discussing African politics and the effects of a changing environment on population movement, agriculture, reproduction and media autonomy with a colleague. Though the operational nature of the talks will not be divulged to prevent incitement and clumsy execution, the gist of the conclusion was that in light of the small nature of its territory, The Gambia and any government at its helm could be politically and physically overwhelmed by any military outfit with smarts but Gambia's army is too dumb and too skittish to fulfill such a task. The reasons given at the time of the parlance were too graphic and could easily offend the fragile sensibilities of Gambians so they will be outlined in less stomach turning detail.

" Every morning after his rigorous exercise Paco would stand facing the sea and gazing at the far distant. Beyond the horizon he imagines seeing a glimpse of a shoreline, that perhaps forms the outline boundary of a magical place called "Babylon", and perhaps even the the mythical place "Eldorado", that had made many dreams possible. "

Six o'clock in the morning, Serekunda West, Paco jumped from bed, stretched his arms and legs, lay on the floor and did a quick push ups to warm his body. He then washed his face and hurriedly dives under the bed and took his running shoes, a pair of warrior sneakers made by converse. Dawn on his favorite T-shirt, the words "Who Dares Win" boldly written at the back and start running the 6 miles distant towards the sea.
