The spectra of perennial fuel shortages is once again threatening to rear its ugly head in The Gambia as the country's population continues to grapple with soaring food prices.Filling stations in the Gambia's capital Banjul and one of the country's most populous municipality, KMC, are virtually inundated with vehicles as the population gears up for yet another fuel dearth.The looming Diesel crisis could pose massive locomotion problems and thus make life unbearable for a large chunk of the population that depend on commuter vehicles as their means of transport.

KUNTAUR IMAM KILLED!!!

The Imam of Kuntuar was stabbed 16 times before he met his untimely death last night, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The 30 year old Imam Amadou Jallow was accosted by his killers while he was preparing to go lead the morning prayers, according to informed sources. His death comes on the heels of Imam-ship dispute amongst the villagers of Kuntaur. It was gathered that there were some parties who opposed Jallow Imam-ship. There is no evidence so far linking his murder to the said dispute, but village sources said Jallow’s murder was a well coordinated one. The villagers suspect that Jallow was murdered by his enemies who they say had never concealed their opposition against his appointment as Imam.

Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh is reported to have ordered his hit squad to kill gays and lesbians found in The Gambia, reveals competent official sources. The Presidential final directive was given last week, as his hit men have intensified night patrols around the Tourism Development Area with sole aim of killing suspected gays in the country. The President says he wants all gays dead in The Gambia. “ The President has given us directive to kill gays in The Gambia. Our men are currently patrolling the Tourism Development Area to search for gays soliciting sex from Gambians. The President has created an anti gay terror squad, whose main responsibility is to apprehend and kill gays in The country. This project is being funded by the Iranian Government. The Iranian Government has welcomed the President’s move to eradicate gay and lesbianism in The Gambia. Following the President’s threats to behead gays, Iran has announced its solidarity with The Gambia. Our men have been issued with a special budget to combat homosexuals in this country.” Said a highly placed source close to the President’s office in Banjul.
