For the first time in the history of Gamlantans (Gambians living in Atlanta), Atlanta women are poised and ready to show their men how appreciative they were for the event recently hosted by GFAA (Gambia Families Association) on their behalf on Mother’s Day.
Judging from the number of donations and volunteers so far, GFAA can safely say that there will be plenty of food, good music by DJ King Solomon and children activities to say the least.
With the unprecedented success and good co-ordination presented by the Men, Gambian women are determined to show the men that when it comes to the family-,”they are indeed the champions” which is without a doubt an obvious fact!

JAMMEH TO FIRE MINISTERS!!!
Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh has lined up a list of Ministers to be fired soon, reveals well placed source close to the President’s office. The President who is not in speaking term with his Ministers is currently finding replacement for the said Ministers lined up to be dismissed. The Freedom Newspaper received the list of Ministers to be fired, but was advised by our source not published it for safety reasons. “ He might know where the source is coming from. He is very desperate now. He insults us on a daily basis. He kept on calling us for a meeting, but he is not willing to meet us.” Said our source.
President Jammeh was quoted as saying that he has lost confidence into his current cabinet. “He picks and choose the people he talks to. He likes to malice his workers. The President acts like a kid.” Said our source.

REVOLUTION VS DICTATORSHIP
A Revolution rising before the desire to rule ruthlessly-Power of our words against a dictator's sword.
By Hammadi Maasinah.
Today lets start with the writings of William Shakepeare, an icon in the huge sea of words who cannot be buried under any rug. In most of his plays William has been able to set the world as a stage where actors and actress converge to interpret the meaning of life. William was not a shy writer before brutality, thuggery, decadence or where people have been "raped" by the desire of ruthlessness. If only I can ask myself this. What would he have written for or against Africa during slavery days if time was to challenge him on that? The answer maybe in the abstract some where.

Stop Press: Jammeh Snubs His Ministers!!!! Monday, June 09, 2008 (2738 reads)
JAMMEH SNUBS HIS MINISTERS!!!
Last Tuesday, President Yahya Jammeh surprises his Ministers when he refuses to see them in Kanilai. The President who made the Ministers to wait for him for hours, later showed up and asked the Ministers to go back to Kombo. “ I think the President is mentally unstable to run this country. He malice everybody here. He is disrespecting us. When he came to the waiting room he only talked to the Vice President. He never greeted us. This rude attitude of the President must stop or otherwise we will resign. He cannot call us at Kanilai only to disgrace us.” Said one of the Ministers.

I am very much engaged in the objectivity of Hammadi Massinah's logic-Michael Scales!! Monday, June 09, 2008 (391 reads)
Dear Mr.Editor,
I am very much engaged in the objectivity of Hammadi Massinah's logic. If I were blind but were asked if these words were of Gambian origin but did not know the nationality of the writer.I would say without hesitation....these are the words of a true Gambian. As someone who has a Nigerian wife and has had the refreshing pleasure of her inteligence and in surveying her culture first hand. The most striking conclusion that i have come to.Is just how different two African nations can be.The other big mistake that Europeans make consistantly...is to Judge all Africans as being the same. They are not.Their identities and in many ways their culture is different. When Europeans see Africans and become frustrated with the many modern conflicts that fire the land. You must forgive them for their lack of education and understanding of the complexities of tribal Africa.

YAHYA IN A BASKET OF SHAME!!!
The pulpit-the constitution-the insincere side of Yahya Jammeh’s perception!
By Hammadi Maasinah
We must admit that the latest controversial statements from Yahya Jammeh have stirred a wild reaction from all corners of society. Some reactions were expected others were not. However, what attracts the attention of many is the issues at hand as they are contemporary international topics. These issues surrounding gays, lesbians, or minorities per se are seen within a different perception in other societies particularly in the western hemisphere. Politically and culturally they are part of modern society’s challenges when it comes to equality and justice.

Breaking News: The Big Interview: Michael Scales Speak!!! Saturday, June 07, 2008 (439 reads)
Freedom Newspaper; Thanks Mike for extending another helping hand
to The Freedom Newspaper. What Makes you so connected to The Freedom Newspaper and why should people support the paper?
Michael; I have been franciseing with Gambians for a long time now.
When I first went to Gambia,I suppose I could have followed the crowd and sat by the swimming pool and done nothing except feed my own vanity. The fact remains that I returned 19 times and spent a small fortune offering help.Their was never any organisation or benefactor standing behind me.I stood alone. With Samba Faal, guideing me, we achieved a great deal.We made a difference.I am still trying to make a difference. You and I Pa have two separate relationships. The business end and the friendship end.I have come to know you very well. You have proved that my faith in Gambians was not missplaced.I trust you implicitly.I do not agree with all you say.Neither do you agree with all that I say.I know you have taken a lot of flack from Gambians who are not pleased that I have stood by The Gambian Government and President Jammeh or many individuals who are associated with your Government. If I am nothing else...I am loyal.I have no doubt in my mind that you are as concerned about The Gambia and your compatriots as any other well balanced and concerned citizen. You have no hidden agenda. If I thought for one moment you were an opportunist or subversive.....I would have distanced myself from you and The Freedom Newspaper. I consider myself as totally honest and trustworthy.I would have no hesitation in recomending you and The Freedom Newspaper as an honerable and trustworthy news medium.
If I become a victim of crossfire between both sides of the argument, then so be it...let me fall on principal and not bullshit.

Dide Halake’s journalism suffocates Gambian diplomacy-State house regrets utterances against gays-cannot hide the traces! Saturday, June 07, 2008 (714 reads)
Dide Halake’s journalism suffocates Gambian diplomacy-State house regrets utterances against gays-cannot hide the traces!
By Hammadi Maasinah.
It is now so obvious that Yahya Jammeh is about to disown our so-called combattive editor in chief at the daily observer. Oh Yes! Dide you have outlived your usefulness to Jammeh. Wait, he will throw you away like a piece of toilet roll soonest. The indications are rising from all corners. Dide remember we as born Gambians can read between the lines before you can. It is about culture not xenophobia. Like you can also read things faster than us if indications were shown against anyone of us in Adis Ababa. That’s a natural fact brother Halake.
We are not xenophobic. Sure we aren’t. If we were then a South Africa-version would have hit your door step a long time ago. Instead of attacking you physically we engaged you as political-opportunist.
