ENSLAVED GAMBIAN GIRL HAS FINALLY BEEN RESCUED FROM HER ARAB CAPTIVES; AS ZEINAB CEESAY LEAVES KUWAIT FOR DAKAR, SENEGAL!
Ms. Zeinab Ceesay, has finally been rescued from her Arab slave masters. She is on her way back home. She is expected to arrive in Senegal at 9 AM on Wednesday morning. Ansumana Colley, the man, who facilitated her trafficking to Kuwait, was said to have been instrumental towards her home return. Mr. Colley was said to have bought a ticket for her to return home. A copy of Zeinab’s air ticket was shown to her parents. Zeinab’s home return has brought joy and happiness to her family.
Breaking the news of Zeinab’s home return, Mr. Bekai Jawara, a Gambian based in Seattle, said he has been on the phone with Zeinab. He said Zeinab was on standby at the Kuwaiti airport enroute to Senegal, then Banjul.
“She is very happy that she is finally going home. She sounded very different when we spoke on the phone. She used to be sad and depressed, but today she was teasing me on the phone. I want to inform your listeners and readers that Zeinab is on her way back to The Gambia,” said Mr. Jawara.
“ She was able to secure her freedom, thanks to the united front demonstrated by Gambians for the past few days, who demanded for her safe return to The Gambia. As soon as her story went viral, the traffickers decided to pull her out of Kuwait, where she was being held as a domestic slave. I was told that Asumana Colley bought for her ticket to return home,” Bekai Jawara said.
Mr. Jawara also thanked the Freedom radio Gambia staffers for their consistency and steadfastness in shedding light on Zeinab’s story. He noted that without Freedom Radio and Freedom Newspaper, the story would not have received such an international attention.
“I want to thank the Freedom staffers for saving Zeinab’s life. There are other girls being held as domestic slaves in Kuwait. They need our help. I also want to thank all those who donated money towards Zeinab’s Gofundme fundraising drive. The money is going to be handed to Zeinab. Every penny would be accounted for,” he said. We will keep you posted with developments.
