His tragic demise saddened his family, friends, loved ones and the West African Community in the Triangle here in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Freedom Newspaper can report. The alleged killer of the charming, polite and sports athletic young Gambian native Sanna Manneh, has been arrested by the U.S Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force, according to news reports published by the Raleigh based Abc11.com website. The circumstances surrounding Mr. Manneh’s  murder has not been revealed yet. What is evident though, the Durham police have been vigorously working on the murder case of Sanna Manneh for sometime now.  An arrest has been made after weeks of intensive investigations.

ABC PICTUREJamol Louis Dixon, wanted in the November 11, shooting death of 32 year old Sanna Maneh, was arrested without incident Wednesday afternoon North Columbia Street in Chapel Hill by members of the US Marshals, the ABC reported.

Sanna Manneh is the son of Dr. Momodou S.K Manneh, a US graduate. His father graduated from a New Jersey University. Mr. Momodou Manneh, onetime served as Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs under the deposed People’s Progressive Party (PPP) government led by former President Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara. Dr. Manneh migrated into the US shortly after the Jawara regime was toppled in July of 1994, by dictator Yahya Jammeh. He was granted political asylum. He later filed for his family to join him in the US. Mr. Manneh now lives in The Gambia.

According to the ABC news, the man allegedly named in the murder of Sanna Manneh, Jamol Louis Dixon, 26, was sought in the shooting, which police say occurred while Manneh was behind the wheel of his vehicle when he was shot, causing him to crash. This happened just before 11 P.M. at the intersection of Liberty Street and Peachtree Place, the ABC added.

When the officers arrived at the scene, said the ABC, they found Manneh dead from a gunshot wound. Dixon faces one count of murder.

The late Mr. Sanna Manneh was buried at a Muslim cemetery site in Wendell, North Carolina. The Senegambian, and Latino Community witnessed his burial. Speakers upon speakers spoke highly of the late Mr. Manneh. Manneh was described as a polite young man, disciplined, above all community oriented.

The late Sanna Manneh was living in North Raleigh, together with his mum and family prior to his gruesome murder. He is blessed with a kid, according to sources.
