A Gambian Navy Chief Lt. Commander Momodou Badjie, has been declared wanted by The Gambia government, the Freedom Newspaper can report. A newscast aired on the state controlled media GRTS stated that fugitive Mr. Badjie, has allegedly misappropriated a huge sum of money from The Gambia Armed Forces. Mr. Badjie is said to be on the run. The government said Badjie is wanted in The Gambia and if seen should be arrested to face justice.
In another development, The Gambia government has restored diplomatic ties with Main Land China. The regime in Banjul has signed an investment deal with a Chinese state owned company called Sino-hydro for energy production in The Gambia. Sources familiar with the story said the Jammeh government is in desperate need of cash.
It would be recalled that The Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, in a surprise move decided to severe ties with his former ally Taiwan. No reason was given for the move. Taiwan said the dictator became upset when Taiwan, refused to entertain a monetary request he made from the Taipei government.
