The erstwhile Gambian Ambassador to Qatar Dodou Bammy Jagne has been appointed Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Jagne replaces the dismissed SG Sulayman Samba.  No reason was given for Samba’s firing.

Below is the press release issued by the Jammeh State House:

His Excellency the President of the Republic of The Gambia Sheikh Professor Alhajji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh, Babili Mansa, acting under the provisions of Section 168 of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, has decided to relieve Mr. Sulayman Samba of his appointment as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service with effect from 30th June 2016.

In the same vein, His Excellency the President acting under the provision of Section 168 has appointed Mr. Dodou Bammy Jagne as Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service with immediate effect.
