All party militants and supporters are urged to turn up to increase the pressure on APRC. All APRC opponents are invited, the statement added.
According to the GDC statement: “The dates and venues are as follows. 20th August 2016 banjul 21 August bakau 22 August Gunjur 23rd August Sukuta 24th August Lamin 25th August Sinchu Alagie 26th Yundum 27th Nema kunku. Timings will be announce in due course.”
It appears that the GDC is determined to intensify its campaign to dislodge Jammeh from power come December, 1. The party came into being barely less than four months ago.
In the meantime, one of the prominent members of the GDC Tina Faal, has been imprisoned by Yahya Jammeh, without any court order. Tina’s only crime was for speaking against the trumped up charges filed against her by the regime. She told Freedom Radio Gambia, in an interview that she was persecuted because of her support for Mama Kandeh, and the GDC.
