The Procurement officer at the Ministry of Justice has been taken into custody by the National Intelligence Agency, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal.  The Procurement officer, who goes with the last name Mboob, was picked up late Wednesday evening by the NIA. He is currently detained at the NIA headquarters in Banjul.

According to sources familiar with the story, Mboob is being held in connection with an alleged missing six million dalasi (D6 Million) at the Justice Ministry. Mboob is helping the investigators in their investigations.

Meanwhile, Solicitor General Saffie Sankareh was summoned for questioning. She was interviewed by the NIA and later asked to go home.

In another development, Justice Minister Mama Singhateh, is expected to be summoned for questioning at the NIA this morning. Sources said Ms. Singhateh’s invitation to the NIA has been scheduled. We will keep our readers posted with developments.
