The confused Gambian dictator Yahya Jammeh, has failed to show up at the airport to receive the visiting Guinean President Jose Mario Vaz, who is on a one day official visit in Banjul. The Bissau Guinean President was received on arrival by VP Isatou Njie Saidy. Jammeh was nowhere to be seen. He continues to hide in Kanilai.

President Vaz is being hosted at the Coco-Ocean Hotel. He has been accompanied by a sizable delegation. He and his delegation are expected to leave Banjul on Tuesday evening.

Members of the security forces converged at the airport on Tuesday to accord the visiting Guinean President a guard of honor. Under normal diplomatic protocol, Jammeh was supposed to be at the airport tarmac to receive his Guinean counterpart, but due to increasing paranoia, Jammeh is refusing to leave his safe haven in Kanilai. It has been gathered that Jammeh is going to meet with the Guinean President at Coco-Ocean.

The reason surrounding the visit of the Guinean President has not been disclosed yet. Our sources on the ground will fill us on the blanks in coming hours. The issue of regional security is likely going to dominate the talks, sources said

It should be noted that the new Guinean President is closer to the Senegalese government compared to that of The Gambian government. He had an excellent relationship with the Macky Sall government. Since his election into office, he refused to allow Jammeh to meddle into Guinea’s internal domestic politics. The Kanilai dictator has been in the business of buying out Guinean politicians and military officers just for the sake of micromanaging happenings within Guinea. Guinea, has been Jammeh’s financial basket. He works with corrupt Guinean top army and politicians to traffic drugs.
