The veteran Gambian journalist and broadcaster Lamin Manga, is no longer with the GRTS, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Manga left GRTS in June, according to competent sources. The circumstances surrounding Lamin’s departure from GRTS is unclear, but sources said Lamin no longer works for the State television.
Mr. Manga is presently in Russia, as we file this report. He is the Russian Consul General in The Gambia. Mr. Manga has been encouraging Russian investors to invest in The Gambia. He has also helped Gambian students aspiring to study in Russia, to secure visas and also scholarships.
Mr. Manga studied journalism in the United Kingdom. He was replaced by Momodou Sabally, the former SG and Presidential Affairs Minister, after the Kaniali monster, downgraded Manga’s responsibilities at GRTS. He was demoted from the position of GRTS Director General to Deputy DG.
GRTS sources are reporting that Mr. Manga, left the institution since June of this year. Manga could not be reached for immediate comment at press time.
