It is election season in The Gambia, and the country’s De Facto dictator Yahya Jammeh, has started reassembling his political propaganda machinery ahead of the polls scheduled for December, 1st, 2016, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Gambia’s Ambassador to India, Balla Jahumpa, who was recently recycled to the Foreign Service, has been recalled to join Jammeh in Banjul, to help jump start his dead political machine.
Balla has been groomed to replace Dodou Bammy Jagne, the Minister of Transport, Works and Infrastructure. Bammy was hired on August, 18th of this year, and he is apparently out of the door. Balla used to occupy the said position before his redeployment to the Foreign Service,
Known as Action Man, Balla Jahumpa is set to help reorganize the APRC party ahead of the polls. He is one of the party’s most vocal, and charismatic speakers.
According to sources, Jammeh wants Balla to canvass for votes for him in Banjul. Balla was born and raised in Banjul. Jammeh thinks that by having Action Man on the ground, he can recover the support base he lost in Banjul. Banjul, has since switched their allegiance to the GDC, sources said.
