Former Secretary General and Presidential Affairs Minister, and now the Director General of The Gambia Radio and television Services Momodou Sabally has been dismissed and detained, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Sabally, is the latest Jammeh victim ahead of the December, 1st Presidential elections. He received his marching orders today.
Shortly after his unceremonious firing, Sabally was picked up by personnel of the National Intelligence Agency, and taken away. He is believed to be detained at the NIA headquarters in Banjul.
As usual, no reason was given for Sabally’s dismissal and subsequent detention. Mr. Sabally has been an ardent and loyal supporter of dictator Yahya Jammeh and his ruling APRC party.
This is not the first time that Mr. Sabally has been detained by the state. He was held for months last year after he got fire from his Presidential Affairs Ministerial post.
Sabally made a comeback shortly after the demise of his mother. His late Mum was the APRC Yaicompin Kombo Lamin.
