Paradise FM, a privately owned radio station has been shut down by the Jammeh government, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. The decision to close down the Paradise FM, was communicated to the station’s owners today by the Ministry of Communication. No valid reason was given for the closure of the station.
Paradise FM, has been giving airtime to the incoming opposition alliance. Sources said the regime is unhappy with the station’s move to grant audience to the opposition. Mai Fatty of the transition Team was recently interviewed by Kebba Camara of Paradise FM.
In a Twitter and Facebook posting, the station’s owner confirmed about the closure of radio. “@Paradise_FM1 @haronadrammeh has being the only radio station supporting the coalition all the time,it’s sad that they have being shutdown https://t.co/U6vp21JYMc,” the statement read.
