The newly appointed Gambian Vice President Fatoumatta Jallow Tambajang, who is a former United Nations worker, is indeed overaged and is not qualified to occupy the post bestowed on her, if the 1997, Constitution is to be invoked, the Freedom Newspaper can authoritatively report. A UN picture ID badge of Ms. Tambajang, which was forwarded to our source, by a close surrogate of Isatou Touray, who is also a member of the Transition government revealed that President Barrrow’s VP pick was born on October 22, 1949.
This followed claims made in some quarters that VP Fatoumatta Jallow Tambajang, was properly vetted by the Transition government. Some Gambians to some extent bought that narrative of the Transition.
Well, our reportage seems to contradict, what the Transition wants to make Gambians to believe. Ms. Tambajang, is indeed overaged and having her as our VP, will no doubt violate the very constitution President Barrow has sworn to protect and defend.
The UN ID badge indicated that Ms. Tambjang is a bilingual. She specializes in gender equality and advancement of women. Her job at the time was program and policy analyst.
Ms. Tambjang, appeared much younger in that UN published badge. She is over 68 years of age, contrary to what others wanted to make us believe that she is 64 years old.
The Transition government could not be reached for comment. Ms. Tambajang could also not be reached.
