Gambia Democratic Congress Party (GDC) press officer Alhagie Essa Jallow, has resigned from the party, the Freedom Newspaper can reveal. Mr. Jallow, a former GRTS producer and veteran broadcaster, resigned shortly after the Presidential elections, which ushered the leadership of Adamad Barrow. His party leader Mama Kandeh, was defeated by his opponent Adama Barrow. Essa then headed out to the UK. Mr. Jallow has since been missing from the public view. He is currently chilling out in Scotland, said our source.
No reason was given for Essa Jallow’s resignation from the GDC. Mr. Jallow is a native of Kombo Brikama.
Mr. Jallow used to live in Manchester, but he later moved to Scotland. Our source said Essa Jallow has relocated to Manchester.
The GDC leadership could not be reached for comment. Mr. Jallow was contacted through his Facebook page to shed light on his recent resignation from the GDC. He is yet to respond to our media query.
