Gambian president Adama Barrow, is leaving Banjul on Friday, for Saudi Arabia, the Freedom Newspaper has gathered. Mr. Barrow is going to be accompanied by a high-powered delegation, sources said.  He has been invited to the Kingdom of Riyadh. This is going to be Mr. Barrow’s trip to Saudi Arabia, since ascending to the presidency. He is among the leaders taking part in the Saudi conference. 

Omar OG Sallah is the Gambian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. Mr. Sallah has laid down the groundwork for Barrow’s trip. Mr. Barrow is expected to meet with the King of Saudi, and the monarch family.

Saudi Arabia, has been Gambia’s ally over the years. The Islamic nation extends support to the impoverished West African nation in various spheres of national development.

Each time, Adama Barrow travels outside the country, he and his delegation are paid exorbitant per diem allowances. The Gambia has been faced with major economic crisis. 

In another development, President Macky Sall is also heading out to Saudi Arabia on Thursday. He is going to meet with Barrow during his visit.
