US Immigration agents have arrested five Gambian nationals living in Raleigh, North Carolina, the Freedom Newspaper has been reliably informed. The detainees are said be residing in the country illegally. They are being held in connection with their immigration status. Some are held on different Immigration offenses. 

A section of the Gambian community in Raleigh, recently held a prayer vigil for the detainees. Some of the detainees have been living in years for over a decade.

The Trump administration has been cracking down on illegal migrants residing in the US. The news of the arrest of the Gambian migrants have been greeted with shocked by the community here.

A good number of Gambian illegals have been recently deported to their native country. It appears that ICE officials have extended their radar to the Triangle. Families are living in anxiety and worry amid increasing uncertainty.
