PURA is not capable and competent to regulate ICT in the Gambia. They should focus on regulating electricity and water to make sure Gambians have 24 hrs electricity and water. Whilst the National ICT Agency regulates ICT, how can they bypass the MOICI to procure an International and National Measuring tools? What kind of incompetence approach is this? I know government has been trying to help them and make them powerful, that help should be focused on traditional public utilizes.

Liberalizing Broad Internet Gateway means more than one landing point can enter market. A consortium company was wrongfully managing a gateway; headed by GAMTEL during the dictator’s regime. The entire system needs to be looked into. The ACE Submarine Fiber cable landing in Gambia is broadband. It is an Internet Broadband Gateway.
